National Television Awards, 2017January 2018 saw the stage set, for the 23rd National Television Awards at the O2 Arena in London.
As head runner for the 'Star Treatment' team, I championed a group of runners, as we set to work on one of the largest award shows in the UK. From chaperoning celebrities, to putting together a staggering 650 red carpet goodie bags, the NTAs proved once again to be one of the busiest shows of the year! Preparations on site for the event, began days before hand. Having spent much of my time working with talent, the team and I were in charge of managing the VIP rooms. This began with designing and implementing a floor plan, liaising with brands to provide complimentary treatments, suppling accreditation and ultimately caring for 350 of the show's VIPS. Broadcast Live on ITV from London's iconic O2 Area, the NTAs saw a staggering 20,000 production staff, on screen talent, celebrities and general public, packed in to watch the awards be given out. Fortunately for me, once the VIPs were in situ for the show, I was reassigned as a chaperone. This meant I went from seat to seat during the show, filling gaps, and making sure talent were comfortable and cared for. I started the night on the front row, sandwiched between Suranne Jones and Graham Norton. However, I ultimately ended up on the second row, in the very centre of the arena! You can catch my smiling face right behind Ant and Dec, as they won their award! |
