Alan Carr's New Years SpecstacularA staple of New Years Eve for the past 7 years, Alan Carr's New Years Specstacular on Channel 4 is the only way to bring in the New Year, and this year was no exception!
Featuring a stellar line up of: Big Narstie, Jonnie Peacock, Keith Lemon, Caroline Flack, Alex Brooker & Binky Felstead, the show brought music, comedy and glamour to the last night of the year. As the on set 'bar man', I essentially looked after all the talent on set by myself, and kept them all well supplied with drinks for the whole night! Our on screen 'bar maid' for the night was reality star Charlotte Dawson, who I directed and prompted for her cameo appearances, though in reality the job of looking after the celebs fell to me. The show is filmed at The London Studios, ITV's base on the South Bank, the home of many of the UK's biggest TV shows. Featuring a live audience, naturally including my parents, New Years Specstacular is actually filmed at the end of November, but has the same electric atmosphere as though it were actually December 31st! Although an exhausting show to work on, and facing the stress of standing on stage carrying 18 drinks for guests, it's an unforgettable show to be a part of and was an absolute joy to watch back on New Years Eve. Here's to 2018, and another great show next year! |
